About

Hi, I’m Marion. I’m a New York City native. I graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts, New York, NY in 1990 as a Music major (oboe); completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA; and earned my MFA degree in Creative Nonfiction at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. I love to read, play tennis, and play the piano (classical music), but my true passion is writing. I love the classics. The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner; I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou; The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien; Bastard out of Carolina by Dorothy Allison, The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold—I could go on. But, my favorite book is creative nonfiction In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I aspire to be an American novelist. I am excited to share with you my upcoming novel.

Currently I live with my family in Hattiesburg, MS. I want to thank the Hattiesburg Hub City Writers, business owners, and community for your support. Your support is helping me to make my dreams reality. Thank you.
